Child Care

Our Child Care programs are segmented by age, with each group having their own classroom specifically tailored for their age. Benefits of this approach include age-appropriate learning techniques and tools, a comfort level for your child being around children their same age, and a reduction in varying levels of social and academic development within a classroom.

The moving of children into new classrooms occurs several times a year, and is based on age, development, and available space within classrooms. Occasionally, a child may be ready to move into a new classroom early, or may not quite be ready to make a change. In both cases, the Child Care Director and teachers will discuss with you what is best for your child and recommend placement.

Infants (6 Weeks to 12 Months)

Our Infants room mirrors a nurturing home environment, with love and individual attention given to each child. Infants follow their own schedule, not ours, and teachers attend to your child's basic needs with patience and sensitivity. We encourage development through stimulating activities and freedom to explore. All nursery staff members have received extra training in infant care. A daily report is prepared for each infant to keep parents up to date on their day.

One-Year Old Program (12 to 24 Months)

With changes occurring so quickly at this age, we attempt to group our One's based on age in months and level of development (early & later ones.) The one-year old program begins to add a little more structure. Days are enriched with activities like art, story time, music & singing, and free time to climb and play. Buggy rides and outside play are included as weather permits.

Two-Year Old Program

Changes continue to occur rapidly at this age, so we also group our Two's based on their level of development. Learning through play is the goal in the two-year old classroom. Days are filled with music, art, stories and games, along with free play, indoors and out. Toilet training is facilitated with easily accessible tiny toilets, and self-help skills are encouraged with items like sinks and water fountains scaled to child size.

Three-and Four-Year Old Program

While they share the same double-sized classroom space, the 3-year olds and 4-year olds are segmented into their own groups. Both age groups are taught our Preschool curriculum from 9 to 11:30AM each day (see Preschool page for more info.) The remainder of the day is spent further developing academic and social skills through fun activities and free play. Children attend one field trip each month, and occasionally during winter months, the Center hosts "In-house" field trips where we bring the fun to us.

Five-Year Old Program

For those 4-year olds who will turn five during the school year, we provide a kindergarten prep program. The program is taught in the 4-year old classroom, or if there are enough children, a new 5-year old classroom is created. The five-year old curriculum helps provide a comfortable transition to kindergarten.

Christian Values

For the two's through five's, time is spent each day supporting Christian values, and the Church Pastor shares a story and song each week. We teach a message common to all denominations, emphasizing the love of God and Jesus Christ and treating all people with respect. We do not teach the doctrine of any particular denomination.
